The Edge of My Spiceyness IV

February 13, 2010 at 4:57 pm (Living) (, , )

We
are all
spicey.

Though
the edge of mine
is not
the edge of yours.

Your edge
could include:
ledges,
chain saws in trees,
smoking out bees,
and hitting small white balls
off tees,
at -30 degrees.

While for me
asking her out
while her father glares
and her mother stares;
or turning the heat up
in the winter
to very hear high;
or driving so fast
on highway 10
that i nearly keep-up
with the rest of the cars
could be spice.

We are all spicey.
We all have an edge.

So ride your edge
hard!

Spice it up!

The Edge of My Spiceyness II

January 29, 2010 at 2:32 pm (Fun, Living) (, , )

Spicey
could be dicey
sit at its edge
hedge your bets
safely
guard your taste buds
from over exposure
to heat.

Beat the odds
and try to live
a wonderful life
without spice
to brighten,
envigour,
enliven,
expose you to new,
you get the idea.

Avoid spiceyness you think
keep your diet bland
avoid fun,
keep joy away,
risk not, hurt not,
innocuous.

A pox on
‘bland’ advice!
Become adverse
to safety;
cayenne pepper your life!

I will find
the edge of my spiceyness
and travel beyond it.

(again my thanks to Shana who originated the phrase this poem is based on and has allowed me to use it.)

Seize the Day

October 9, 2009 at 12:43 pm (God, Living, Relationships, woman) ()

I have heard
‘Seize the Day’
and thought:
‘Thats a great idea’,
but left it unused
as a life strategy.

Now,
suddenly
it is imprinted
on my heart
SEIZE THE DAY
tatooed
deeply.

I ask her out.

Irony part I

October 2, 2009 at 3:22 pm (anxiety, Living, Relationships, woman)

I smile at the irony
that anxiety of people
follows me
often deliniating my life,
but my happiest has existed
in people proximity,
girlfriends especially,
and in my communities events.

Now alone mostly
with many things
walks, watching hockey
museums, events
i see they lack
the colour
depth
dimension
fullness
of when they were shared.

Even aloneness at home
is becoming black and white,
losing its colour,
making me long to change the picture,
switch to a new show;
i have to figure out how to work the controls
without a manual.
frustration!

May this increasing longing
overule my anxiety;
become so strong
only action can occur
toward people.

Green Gables Life

March 6, 2009 at 4:21 pm (Living) (, )

Anne
takes joy in living
a Green Gables
life
throwing herself
before others selves
encouraging them
to live too.
